About Dr. Lydia

My Journey to Becoming a Therapist

I didn’t start college intending to become a therapist. My first major was music, and I spent countless solitary hours in a practice room with my instruments—piano and violin. However, as I approached my junior year, I made a decision that changed my trajectory. I realized I wanted to spend more time actively helping others rather than rehearsing alone. So, I switched my major to psychology and pursued volunteer and service opportunities with the Boys & Girls Club, nursing homes, and schools.

The Rewards of Being a Therapist

Seeing others reach their goals and create meaningful change is both fulfilling and life-giving. I love showing up for my clients, believing in them even before they believe in themselves. My goal is to meet each client where they are, foster confidence in their ability to grow, and plant a seed of hope in their lives.
When you cultivate something, you work to make it better. With the right tools and support you can cultivate:

  • Healthy relationships
  • Emotional health
  • Mental health
  • Self-love and acceptance
  • Confidence and self-worth
  • Balanced and purposeful life

My post-doctoral residency was completed at the Center for Psychological Growth & Wellness in Plantation, Florida. Since July 2021, I have been a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Florida (PY 11152).
